and so it is, just like you said it should be

[spinning]: blower's daughter – damien rice

You're moving further away from me. Though it doesn't really change anything, knowing that you'd be half way around the world... another extra thousand miles away... pains me. You tell me it won't matter, that things will still be the same... but something tells me that it won't be. That you're going to drift further away, that I won't mean as much to you anymore and all I'll ever be is a distant memory to you. Tell me that it won't be this way. I know you already have, but I need to hear it again... just once more before you get on that plane. Help me placate these trepidations, these notions of mine. I am after all as you say... a silly woman.

Geekiest Moment in History

What are your Geekiest Moments in history? My answer to this Attack of the Show inspired question would probably have to be the moment I witnessed Aeris dying at the hands of Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII and Cloud carrying her body in the pool. I cried watching that. Didn't we all? hahahaha. Oooh! And watching the trailer for Advent Children for the very first time!

Yeah, that would have to be it. And umm.. watching the opening scenes of Lord of the Rings:The Fellowship of the Ring, when Galadriel was talking about the Sauron and how the Ring came to be. I loved the book and watching in materialize right in front of me was just jaw-dropping. I had goosebumps. Regardless of what the critics say, I still think it was an awesome movie.

Another geekiest moment would be my very first Dungeons & Dragons game, the first roll of the d20. Yeah, I think playing D&D has cemented the fact that I am a GEEK. Hahahaha. Geeks are 133t ok. 1'll p4wn y0 a$$ f00!

[spinning]: sovereign hands – hillsong united

Yesterday, I got a phonecall from Empire asking me to come in for an interview today. I was still in bed and my voice was really throaty because of those bastards who keep burning crap outside of my flat. Anyway, after the phonecall I jumped out of bed and did a little dance. Hahaha. I was ecstatic!

So the interview happened today. It was a proper formal interview. My first so far here in Brunei. I dressed up in my *ahem* "power" suit and did my hair, etc. The guy that interviewed me was extremely nice. He gave me an application form to fill out and drilled me about my background, my passion, strengths & weaknesses and so on. He was really impressed with my results. 3.91 GPA. He'd better be! Hahaha. He was gutted that I wasn't Bruneian, if I was, he would've given me a job the very next day apparently.

So, I'm to go for my second interview on Wednesday, this time with the actual person I'll be working with in Event Sales. It's going really well so far! Thanks to everyone who's been praying for me. I can't thank you guys enough and of course, all this wouldn't have happened without Him. All praise and glory belongs to Him, my Adonai.

retro cartoons

[spinning]: the theme song to saber rider!

~Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs in the Sky!~ hahahaha. <3 The entry with Jem and the Holograms made me want to look for all my other favourite cartoons as a kid. Who could forget Thundercats? I can't help but think there's an underlying innuendo when his sword gets bigger... Yeeeeeah..

ANYWAY! Moving on! Rainbow Brite! She had such a pretty horse. Man, would I like to wake up like her every morning. With the singing and the stardust and the rainbows and.. yeah. Hahaha. And thanks to Didi for the piccie. I stole it from her laptop. :D

The Muppets! I love Kermit the Frog. My other favourite characters are the Swedish Chef and Pepe the Prawn. Pepe's not just A prawn, he's a KING prawn. I wish I could say that the Swedish Chef was the inspiration behind me wanting to be a chef.. lol. He's so crazy!

I don't believe in Barney or the Teletubbies. I would never ever let any of my children or my nieces and nephews watch that crap. I do however believe in SESAME STREET! I grew up watching that almost everyday. I love Cookie Monster and Count Dracula. Always hated Big Bird though, that no good goody two shoes!

Dad used to record episodes of Dungeons & Dragons for us back then. I think I still have them somewhere.. Sheila was so cool with her Cloak of Invisibility. Tsk. If only my Alexia had that in D&D. And Bobby the Barbarian was such a little brat! But then again he was the youngest of the lot..

And who didn't get into the Power Rangers craze when it came out? Hahaha. When the movie came out, I thought it was the most important thing, like, ever. lol. Kimberly can take you down anytime f00! There's a Transformers movie in the works!
Optimus Prime! Awesome! :D They better not mess it up though. I can't wait for it to come out!!

Last but not least, there's Akazukin Cha Cha. I used to watch it on Cartoon Network every afternoon. That was one WEIRD cartoon. I mean, HOLLY UP? wtf? And then she'll get additional weapons later on like Burning Phoenix or whatever. I was so crazy about it, I named a litter of hamsters we had after the characters. Sarebi <3! He's hot! Hahahaha.

And if you're wondering who that pig is under Sunshine Bear, that is none other than the DARK LORD, CHUCKLES, THE SILLY PIGGY. The main villain in Dave the Barbarian. A cartoon that is so absurdly stupid that you can't not love. Oh, to be a kid again.

burning bush! char siu pau!

[spinning]: alvarez- funeral for a friend

KOOL hosted a farewell party for Rini, Ruth and Sarah last night. Yeah, all three of them are leaving! Rini to the UK, Ruth to Seattle and Sarah to Melbourne. The party was fun, good food, good company. We even had a dance performance from the Powerpuff Girls. So cute! Then we got into a very competitive game of Bible Pictionary. Hahahaha. It was hilarious. The answers turned out to be really really simple, not directly related to the Bible. So most of our answers were too Chim. Especially with Rev. Johnny on our team. Which reminds me of that Pastors Gone Wild episode at Uncle Ayo's house... lol. Mum's attempt at drawing a cow ended up looking like a guinea pig with tits. This prompted Auntie Betty to shout out Nen Nen. And anything that resembled a cloud or sheep was a burning bush to me. And when at long last the answer was burning bush, i wasn't the one who guessed it. Yay me! Hahaha.

Old Friends and My Dungu Brother

[spinning]: serenity – fireflight

It's nice to be able to catch up with old friends again. Just a few days ago, I got a message on Friendster from Nads. I haven't heard from her for almost 2 years! Last I heard was that she got married and moved to Iran. Sab and I were worried for her because we're paranoid and very judgemental, I'm sad to say. Yeah, we thought she either got preggers or she was kidnapped. But that is not the case! Hurrah! She is well and very much in love with her new husband! And I'm glad she hasn't given up her dream of being a singer. Good Luck Nads!

Had coffee at Matadoe with Stephy and Yen. We've been friends since... kindy! Hahaha, and now we're in our 20s and we're still friends. I promised Steph, I'll talk about her so yeah.. Steph.. she's cool. Don't mess with her or she'll roll all over you f00. The three of us conspired to pull a prank on Anand, my brother, also alleged St. Andrew's Hottie. Hahaha. Steph called him pretending to be this chick Kathryn. And Anand actually layaned her ok.

"Kathryn" : So, I was thinking maybe we could go out for drinks this weekend or something..
Anand: Sure, but I'm not free on Saturday though. How about Sunday? I'm free on Sunday.

Mind you, that Sunday was the Sunday of my Baptism. Some brother I have! Man, that boy can pull out the charms. It's the Pirinyuang blood. So anyway, Anand asked "Kathryn" (sidenote: when told that she was 21, he was not at all bothered by the age gap) for her email so they could talk on MSN. That's when Steph spilled the beans.

Anand: Does my sister know that you called me?
Steph: I'm not at liberty to tell you.

But APPARENTLY Anand had suspected that it was a prank the whole time. Yeaaaaaah. Whatever. Hahahaha. That was both fun and very awkward. Seeing my brother put the moves on a girl is not something I would like to witness. Tch! And he's so vain these days. "I don't use hair gel coz it doesn't feel natural and it spoils my hair" Just the other day I caught him examining his thigh fat. wtf? He was like, "why does it jiggle even when I clench my muscles?". My brother... such a dungu sometimes.
